The challenge
The development boasts a resident’s gym, an expansive garden room and co-working space, a private dining suite to entertain guests in an attractive restaurant-style setting and spa-quality treatment rooms
The brief was to epitomise the best in contemporary living, promoting health, well-being, and flexibility for the modern resident.
The solution
Achieving efficiency in terms of space utilisation, routing and reducing redundancy whilst maximising energy efficiency was the ethos of the team’s design.
Energy modelling was undertaken to optimise the HVAC and lighting, considering insulation, glazing, and building orientation. The design reduces both operational costs and environmental impact.
The team's previous experience and compliance knowledge were used to good effect for efficient plant and equipment sizing, maximising usable space.
Our acoustic team worked closely with the MEP engineers to incorporate natural ventilation with opening windows where possible, improving the indoor environment and simplifying the ventilation systems.
493 square meters of roof-mounted solar panels have been incorporated into the design providing renewable electricity to the common areas, anticipated to output 89,060 kWh, and a carbon saving of 46 tonnes annually.
We are thrilled to be involved in this exciting new development for Bracknell and to be contributing to the ongoing development of the town, ensuring sustainability, green solutions and quality is at the forefront during the build process.
